DAnielle James
Durham, North Carolina
Danielle James is a Durham N.C. based neon bender, designer, and metalsmith whose works have been exhibited nationally and internationally. She received a BFA from Millersville University and her MFA from East Carolina University. Fresh our of a 4 year neon apprenticeship under artist and sculpture Nate Sheaffer at Glas in Raleigh N.C.
She is now on her own working as HEX NEON out of THE FRUIT in Durham. In her work she chooses to highlight the relationship humans have with each other via social media and other 21st century outlets. Using reclaimed materials and design elements her current work references a nostalgic American past while confronting the toxic relationship that is the myth of the American dream.
